SUNDAY SCHOOL CONVOCATION
Our Sunday Schools held the convocation for the outgoing 12th standard students during Worship on 6th January. A fitting farewell was given to the children which was led by our Dicoesan Bishop. All the very best to the children in all their future endeavours.
We take pride that one of our members Ashlie Abraham Raju, son of Raju Varghese & Suja (Muhaishnah B prayer group) represented Our Own High School in the CBSE Athletics National Meet held at Baroda recently and won the gold medal in the relay race. Let this be a motivation to many of our youngsters in achieving greater heights for the glory of our Lord. Congratulations Ashlie.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE
The first Holy Communion Service took place on Thursday 5th January where 104 children accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and was taken into the full membership of the Parish. Our Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa celebrated Holy Communion along with our 3 Achens and Rev. P.C. George Achen. Let us keep all the children in our prayers that they will continue to grow in the Lord.
FAMILY GET TOGETHER
Our Harvest Festival for 2017 and the Annual family get together was held on 27th January. By God's grace it was a blessed day with a number of events and a time of fellowship among our members. A large number of members participated in various events, in the food stalls, games and auction. The evening ended with a blessed cultural time and skit organised by our Yuvajana Sakhyam. Praise God for a wonderful time.
EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD
Educational Excellence Award was given by the Yuvajana Sakhyam to children who topped the 10th & 12th standard exams in the previous year. Congratulations to all the children and God bless you.
AMVMM BIBLE QUIZ WINNING TEAM
The Annual AMVMM Bible Quiz Competition held by the Yuvajana Sakhyam was a wonderful time both for the participants and the audience alike. Praising God for all the participants and congratulations to the winners - Jumeirah Prayer Group, followed by Karama B and Al Nahda - Dubai prayer groups.
PARISH MISSION CONVENTION
The Parish Mission Convention was held in the second week of January where the main speaker was Rev. K. Thomas Achen. Our members enjoyed 3 days of powerful messages from the Word. Pray that what we have heard will penetrate into our hearts and we will be able to live lives pleasing according to His Word.

Our Yuvajana Sakhyam participated in the Center Kalamela on 1st of December and bagged the overall championship in Musical Items & Quiz. Hearty congratulations to all our members who participated in the events.
YUVAJANA SAKHYAM - CAROL ROUNDS & CHRISTMAS GIFT TO LABOUR CAMPS
The members of Yuvajana Sakhyam visited 3 Labour camps in UAE and distributed food packets and Christmas cakes to 170 people who are going through tough living conditions. A small token to bring a smile to their faces! Sakhyam members also went for Carol rounds to some of the Sakhyam members houses.
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP - GOOD SHEPHERDS INITIATIVE
As in previous years, our Youth Fellowship members went to some of our members houses caroling which is called the Good Shepherds Initiative. Apart from the singing time, they were able to get into a time of knowing family members and fellowshipping with them.
Junior Carols of our Sunday school for this year was held on 23rd December and students from Preschool to Young Adult II (Grade 12) staged various programmes for the carol evening. We praise our Lord for leading us in the year 2016 and helping all of us to see yet another year in 2017.

Sevika Sangham had their Christmas programme on December 12th with different area members presenting Carols, skits and other programmes. Rev. Dr. P G George achen gave the message which was attended by our Vicar and Asst. Vicar as well.
TSS PICNIC AND ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PROGRAMME
Trinity Sunday School held its annual picnic at the Creekside park on December 3. Around 350 children, parents and teachers played various games, relaxed in the green surroundings and enjoyed the day out. The annual Christmas programme of Trinity Sunday School was held on December 10 at the Orthodox Cathedral parish hall. Children put up various songs, choreographed displays and skits to remind us about the birth of Jesus. The programme was graced by Thomas Zachariah achen, Joe Mathew achen, Roby Mathew achen and attended by children, parents, teachers and friends.
MALAYALAM CHRISTMAS CAROLS
On Thursday 22nd December we saw the Carols presented by our Parish Choir and the Junior Choir. The message for the Service was shared by the Chief Guest for the evening Rev. Dr. P.G. George. Both the Services had the presence and encouragement of the Vicar, Asst. Vicar and our Youth Chaplain and was attended by a large number of parish members.
ENGLISH SERVICE CHRISTMAS CAROLS
The English Service Carols were held on the 17th of December and the message was given by Rev. Dr. P.G. George. The three choirs - the Senior Choir, the Children’s Choir and True Calling - the Youth Fellowship Choir put up beautiful songs giving the reason of Christmas.The programme was graced by Thomas Zachariah achen, Joe Mathew achen, Roby Mathew achen.
47TH PARISH DAY CELEBRATIONS
Our Parish celebrated its 47th birthday last month. The Dean of Studies, SATHRI, Serampore - Rev. Dr. P G George Achen was the Chief Guest for our Parish Day this year and talked about a Purpose Driven Church and its essentials. During the Parish Day we had the children’s dedication and honouring of Senior Citizen’s of our Church by giving Ponnada. After the programme, a sumptuous lunch was served to all Parish members.
JEBEL ALI SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC
Sunday School students of the Dubai Mar Thoma Sunday School went for a picnic to Sharjah National Park last month. Accompanied by teachers, all children had a wonderful time with games and various other events. This was a nice time to interact with one other and spend some time knowing each other.

Taking advantage of the fine weather outside, Sevika Sangham members went for a picnic on November 19th to the Creek Park. Both our Vicars and their families went along for the picnic along with the Sevika Sangham members. Members had a blessed time of enjoyment and fellowship.

DAIVASTHUTHI SONG BOOK RELEASED BY PARISH MISSION
Our Parish Mission released a newly compiled and published song book "Daivasthuthi" on the first day of our Parish Convention. This book consists of around 600 Malayalam and 100 odd English songs. Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Theethos Episcopa released the book in the presence of our Vicars by giving the first copy to our senior member Mr. M.J. Thomas. Congratulations to the entire team of Parish Mission who worked tirelessly to put together this compilation. YUVAJANA SAKHYAM ACTIVITIES - OCTOBER 2016
Yuvajana Sakhyam had a meeting with Thirumeni last month and another meeting with the Prateeksha sponsors. They organised a session on Breast Cancer awareness. They assisted in the Service for Youth Sunday and also had a food sale last month.
The Youth Fellowship embarked on a three day mission trip to a few villages in the Thane district, off Mumbai. These adivasi villages are being served and catered to by the evangelists of Mumbai Diocese. Seeing the zeal among new believers and the kind of circumstances they live in was a lesson these members experienced for the first time and was an eye opener to many.
Parish Convention that took place from 17th to 19th of October was attended by a large number of our members. Our Diocesan Episcopa gave thought provoking messages based on the theme "Family - Celebratrion of Relationships". Apart from our Achens, Achens from sister parishes too attended the Convention.

SUNDAY SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP 2016
With a grateful heart, we thank Lord Almighty for all the blessings showered during the Summer camp-2016. By His Grace, we had a blessed summer camp held on 26th and 27th August 2016 with the participation of nearly 300 registered students, prayerful participation of staff / volunteers, many parents, guests and parish members. Summer camp was held under the leadership of our Vicar Rev. Thomas Zachariah, Asst. Vicar Rev. Joe Mathew, Youth Chaplain Rev. Roby J. Mathew, camp leaders Mr. Dinesh Salian & Mrs. Asha Salian and convenor Mr. Sunil Varghese. We extend our sincere thanks to one and all who had prayerfully supported & participated for the successful conduct of the summer camp-2016.
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP PRAISE & WORSHIP
Youth Fellowship of our parish had a blessed evening of Praise & Worship recently held at the Trinity Church. The Praise & Worship was led by the band - Masterplan and the message was shared by Dr. Anand Menon. A large number of youths and other church members attended the Worship.
YUVAJANA SAKHYAMINDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Our Yuvajana Sakhyam celebrated the 70th Indian Independence Day on 19th August 2016 at the Jebel Ali Church. The Deputy Consul General of India to the UAE, Mr. K. Muraleedharan, inaugurated the celebration. Along with our Vicars a large number of parishioners attended the Independence Day function, which included a skit by little children.
Hearty Congratulations to our Al Nahda Dubai area prayer group member, Mr. Thomas Mathew, Executive Principal of Our Own English High School, Dubai who won the prestigious National Award for Teachers for the year 2015 in India. Mr. Thomas Mathew will be honoured by the Hon. President of India, Shri. Pranab Mukherjee on September 5th 2016 at a ceremony to be held at the Vidyan Bhawan, New Delhi. While we take pride in the honour bestowed on Mr. Thomas Mathew, we pray, that God will continue to bless him and use him more for the extension of His kingdom.

Yuvajana Sakhyam conducted a Praise & Worship session at the Bethanya Hall on 24th June 2016. This was led by Rev. Joe Mathew and the message by Rev. Thomas John, VBS Director.
With a grateful heart, we thank Lord Almighty for all the blessings showered during the VBS-2016. By His Grace, we had a blessed VBS from 17th to 24th June 2016 with the participation of 803 registered students, about 200 VBS staff / volunteers and prayerful participation of many parents, guests and parish members. About 571 participants availed the bus transportation arranged for the VBS. This year VBS was held under the leadership of our Vicar Rev. Thomas Zachariah, Asst. Vicar Rev. Joe Mathew, Youth Chaplain Rev. Roby J. Mathew and VBS Director Rev. Thomas John (Jeslin). Convenor Mr. Nibin Oommen, joint convenors Mr. Ebenezer Philip & Mr. Jills Varghese were supported by a group of 18 working committee members and Parish kaisthana samithi. We extend our sincere thanks to one and all who had been a pillar of support and strength for the smooth and successful functioning of the VBS. TSS - PARENT & STUDENT ENGAGEMENT SESSION
The Parent and student engagement session was held on 28th May in Trinity Sunday School. Mr. Johnson Thomas, who spoke to the parents, challenged them to live and walk according to the Word. The First Holy Communion Service this year was held on 1st January 2016 where 80 children accepted Chirst as their personal Saviour and took part in the Holy Communion for the first time. Our Vicars led the Service. Let us pray for all the children that they will continue to grow strong in the Lord.
Sevika Sangham had a retreat on 30th January which was led by Ms. Rose Mary who is a Counsellor by profession. Many of the Sevika Sangham members attended the retreat.

HARVEST FESTIVAL 2016
Our Harvest Festival this year was a great blessing with our Parish members coming out in large numbers and participating. This was an excellent time of fellowship and bringing together of our resources. The funds collected will be used for the various purposes as designated by the General Body. A big thank you to all who worked hard in making this Festival a success.

Our Parish Christmas Carol Services in the month of December which was prayerfully attended by a large number of our Parish members. The English Service Carols were held on the 12th of December and the message was given by Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa. TRINITY SUNDAY SCHOOLCHRISTMAS PROGRAMME
The Christmas and final day programme at Trinity Sunday School was held on December 19, 2015 at the E1 hall in the Trinity campus. The children put up various songs and choreography based on the Christmas theme. Our three Achens encouraged the children and spoke about the importance of understanding the meaning of Christmas.

Our Parish celebrated its 47th birthday last month. Our Diocesan Episcopa, Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa was the Chief Guest for the Parish Day celebrations.Thirumeni spoke about working together in harmony and to strengthen the bonds of relationship so that our Lord can be worshipped in spirit and truth. During the Parish Day we had the children’s dedication and honouring of Senior Citizen’s of our Church by giving Ponnada. The toppers of 10th & 12th standard were awarded as well and the Yuvajana Sakhyam released the latest album of Heavenly Hits. After the programme, a sumptuous lunch was served to all Parish members. Praying that our Parish will go from strength to strength in the coming years and we will be able to spread the good news of Christ.
RT. REV. DR. ZACHARIAS MAR THEOPHILUS THIRUMENI PASSED AWAY
The Mar Thoma Parish, Dubai deeply mourns the passing away of Senior Suffragan Metropolitan Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Thirumeni at Thiruvananthapuram at 5.52 pm on Sunday, 27th December 2015.
The mortal remains of Thirumeni was brought to Thiruvanathapuram Pattoor Church and kept there till 8 pm and then taken to Thiruvalla. On the way to Thiruvalla body will be kept at the front of Tittamel Church, Chengannoor.
The funeral is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, 29th December 2015 in Thiruvalla.
A special prayer meeting has been arranged at the Jebel Ali Church at 8.30 pm this evening (Monday, 28th December 2015). Requesting your prayerful presence.
WARM WELCOME TO DIOCESAN EPISCOPA - RT. REV.GREGORIOS MAR STEPHANOS
Our Diocesan Episcopa Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa arrived in Dubai on the morning of 6th December. During his 10 day stay here Thirumeni will lead our Parish Day activities and participate in our Carol Services. Thirumeni was received at the airport by our Achens, office bearers and some members of our Parish.
Yuvajana Sakhyam members participated in the Centre Kalamela competition held recently. The Bible Quiz team bagged the 2nd prize and the we won the 3rd prize in the Group Song competition. A big thank you to all who participated and congratulations to the winners! Our Yuvajana Sakhyam conducted a Badminton Tournament recently wherein 28 teams comprising of our church members participated. Rev. Thomas Zachariah Achen inaugurated the tournament. Mr. Aji Thomas & Mr. John Philip were the Winners followed by Mr. John Daniel & Mr. Lin Mathew being the first runners up and Mr. James Thomas & Mr. James M. Varghese came as the second runners up team. Congratulations!
CLEAN UP THE WORLD
Yuvajana Sakhyam members took part in the ‘Clean Up the World’ campaign on November 27th which was organised by Dubai Municipality. The area allotted was the surroundings of the church complexes and members did a good job in cleaning up the area. Keep the good work!
CSI - MAR THOMA JOINT SERVICE
As in the past, Unity Sunday was celebrated last month wherein we had a joint service of the CSICNI- Mar Thoma Churches. Rev. Praveen Chacko George, Vicar of the CSI Parish Dubai celebrated Holy Communion assisted by our 3 Achens. The CSI church choir joined with our choir members in leading the Worship. The joint Service saw a large number of members from the CSI Parish and our members come together in Worship and this was a wonderful time of fellowship as well.
Over the past couple of years our Youth Fellowship has been doing carolling rounds known as the Good Shepherd Initiative. This is a time for them to come together, visit each other and sing praise to our heavenly Father. Seen above are pictures from the carolling rounds. Youth Fellowship organised a picnic at Al Wathba Park in Abu Dhabi recently. A large number of Youth Fellowship members attended the picnic which was led by our Chaplain Rev. Roby J. Mathew. A fantastic time to get to know each other and to build relationships.

Our Metropolitan His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan visited our Parish on the occasion of Family Day on 22nd & 23rd of October. Thirumeni was received at the airport by our Vicars, office bearers and some members of our Parish.
Our Parish Convention this year took place at the Holy Trinity Church compound between the 19th & 21st of October. Based on the theme of UNITED BY GOD, the leader this year Rev. Sam T. Koshy gave valuable insights on Christian living. The Convention was attended by priests and members of other parishes and a large number of our Parish members. The 3 day convention was a blessing to all who attended and a time of rededication of lives.
Yuvajana Sakhyam assisted for the Worship Service at Youth Day. The songs were led by the YS choir - Heavenly Voices who are seen here at the end of the Service. Yuvajana Sakhyam recently held a meeting with senior friends of the Sakhyam. Previous Sakhyam members were invited for the session which was a blessed time of interaction with the present and senior members.

We are happy to announce that our Sunday school bagged the first runners up trophy in the Explore -2015 conducted by The Mar Thoma Sunday school Samajam - UAE Centre on Oct 17, 2015. Also our Sunday school won the second runners up prize in the Inter church competition conducted by The Mar Thoma Sunday School - Sharjah on Oct 23, 2015. ARTS EXHIBITION @ TRINITY SUNDAY SCHOOL
On the occasion of World Sunday school Day, we had a blessed service in English at the Trinity Church on 31 Oct, assisted by the students and teachers of Trinity Sunday School. TSS also put up an Arts exhibition and tea fellowship on the day. The exhibition showcased the paintings of the children of the Navjeevan Centre, Mumbai. A total of 35 paintings were exhibited and sold, the proceeds of which will go to Navjeevan Centre. This is an initiative of the Trinity Sunday school to instill confidence in these young minds that they can effectively use their God –given talent to give back to the society that has invested time, energy and love in them.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING &RETREAT
A Leadership Training & Retret was held on 18th September at our Church. Adv. Prakash P. Thomas, Lay Trustee of the Mar Thoma Church led the retreat which was attended by all Kaisthana Samithi members, prayer group secretaries and other organisation committe members. The retreat was a great blessing for all attendees.
Yuvajana Sakhyam held their Annual Swararagam Musical program which was followed by the Onasadhya lunch. This was a time of coming together and was attended by a large number of our parish members.
DIOCESE HONOUR TO TOPPERS
The toppers of this years 10th & 12th standard students were honoured recently during Worship Service by our Vicar in the presence of Adv. Prakash P. Thomas and Sabha Council members Mr. M. C. Mathew and Mr. Abey Varicad. Congratulations to all the toppers and may God continue to guide you in His wisdom. Also during the function a special award for outstanding contribution to the growth of the Diocese was collected by our Diocesan Assembly member Mr. Denny Aringada Thomas

VBS & SUMMER CAMP
The Mar Thoma Sunday School - Dubai would like to thank Lord Almighty for the abundant blessings throughout our Summer Camp which was held during 3rd & 4th of July 2015 and our VBS which was held during 21st to 28th of August 2015. Our Summer camp and VBS were the most blessed events of our Sunday school and our children had the most spiritual excitements and wonderful time during these events. We extend our sincere thanks to our vicars, youth chaplain and VBS director Rev. Manoj Yuhan. Also our sincere thanks to parish kaisthana samithi, parents, event convenors, volunteers, Sunday school choir, Sunday schools and all VBS staff members.
YUVAJANA SAKHYAM INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Our Yuvajana Sakhyam organised a flag hoisting and meeting to commemorate the Indian Independence Day. This was attended by a large number of church and Yuvajana Sakhyam members. Dr. Tiju Thomas, Indian Consul (Economic & Education, Press & Information) Dubai and and Rev. P. John Philip, Vicar of Sharjah MTC were the special guests for the function.
Our Annual Homeland Fellowship was held on 7th August 2015 at VGM Hall, Tiruvalla, which was attended by many of our ex-members and families who were on holidays. Some our previous Vicars too attended the meeting which was a wonderful opportunity to renew old relationships.
TRINITY SUNDAY SCHOOL MISSION TRIP
Mission Trip: A 30 member group comprising of children, parents and teachers of the Trinity Sunday school visited the elderly and the children who live in Carmel Agathimanthiram and Balika Bhavan in Kerala. This was a truly inspirational and eye opening trip to witness the work of these institutions. It was also an opportunity to understand the needs of people around us and focus on how we can be of service to humanity at large.

The Youth Camp organised by Yuvajana Sakhyam was held at the Easow Mar Timotheos Hall on 17th & 18th of July 2015. The theme of the camp was “Vision of Cross; Mission of Youth. Yuvajana Sakhyam celebrated the Wedding Anniversary of our Asst. Vicar Rev. Benny V. Abraham and Susan Kochamma recently and had a cake cutting. Thanking God for Achen and Kochamma’s life and praying for many more meaningful years together as they serve the Lord.
Sakhyam also celebrated the birthday’s of their members which fall in the month of June with a cake cutting and fellowship. May God continue to bless you all and keep you in the shadow of His wings.

Our new Youth Chaplain Rev. Roby Jacob Mathew was given a warm welcome on his arrival to Dubai early May. Achen was also welcomed during Church services and other organisation meetings. We pray for Achen’s ministry to be a blessing during his stay here.

Our Parish bid farewell to dear Rev. Samson Samuel Achen, Susan Kochamma and Shruti on April 4, 2014 after morning worship. The meeting was presided by our Vicar Rev. Dr. Daniel Mammen, Asst. Vicar Rev. Benny V. Abraham and guest Achens Rev. Dr. R.C. Thomas. Achen and Rev. Eapen Mathew. Samson Achen was given a warm farewell after 3 years of dedicated service here and left Dubai on 29th April to take charge as the Vicar of Bhopal Mar Thoma Parish. We would like to sincerely thank Achen and family for their service here and pray that God will continue to use them for building his kingdom.
SPECIAL PROGRAMME - SUNDAY SCHOOL
A special Easter programme titled “Hallelujah, Christ has risen” was held during the common class at the Mar Thoma Sunday School, Jebel Ali on Friday 25th April. Each section had their own set of programmes with songs and skit on the topic, where children could be given a message on the risen Lord.
TRINITY SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY
Trinity Sunday School celebrated its 5th Anniversary last month. Children presented a variety of events to mark the anniversary. Along with the Anniversary celebration, TSS had a farewell arranged for Samson Achen and family. The whole event was attended by a large number of parents, students and teachers and was a blessed morning for all.

Worship Services during Passion Week saw a large number of members gathering. From Palm Sunday to Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Services were held in Malayalam and English for the benefit of the worshipping community. Youth Fellowship had a wonderful day out when they had their Picnic on 28th February held at the Safa Park. It was a fantastic day of fellowship and knowing each other combined with food and games. Rev. Samson Samuel attend the picnic as well.
Youth Fellowship organized an overnight couples retreat on the 14th of February 2014, at the Five Continents Casslles Resort, Ghantoot themed “ Walk In Love”. The theme taken from Ephesians 5:2 was led by Rev. Samson Samuel as a Couples Meet Initiation’s 2nd Year Anniversary celebration.

Yuvajana Sakhyam Convention was held from the 10 - 12th of February and the speaker for the Convention was Prof. Johnson Thomas, CSI Church, Abu Dhabi. The Convention was attended by our Achens and a large number of our congregation throughout the 3 days and was a blessing to all who attended.

“Unarvu Yogam” Parampara (series) is organised by the UAE Centre Parish Mission. The latest one was hosted by Dubai Parish Mission in association with Dubai Sevika Sangham and Dubai Yuvajana Sakhyam. Rev. Fr. Paulose Parekkara Corepiscopa of the Jacobite Syrian Church was the main speaker and the meeting was held in the presence of Rev. John Philip A. , Vicar of Abu Dhabi MTC.

Dr. Nissy Anil John, our Parish member has been conferred a Doctorate in Environmental Sciences by the University of Kerala. The area of her research was Hydrology entitled ‘Hydrochemical and Microbiological Studies of Water Resources in Kollam, South West of India - A GIS based Approach’. Dr. Nissy is the wife of Mr. Anil John, Secretary of Dubai Mar ThomaYuvajana Sakhyam and mother of Aaron and Evan. Their parent parish is Horeb Mar Thoma Church, Ampalathumkala, Kottarakara.

A night to remeber! The Cultural events or Kalasandhya that was part of the Harvest Festival was a good mix of songs, music, drama and was well attended by our members who stayed back till late in the evening to catch a glimpse of the different talents that was exhibited.

A Medical Camp was held on the sidelines of the Harvest Festival where our members did a routine check on blood and sugar levels and met with doctors for a consultation. This facility was used by a large number of our members who took advantage of this special facility.
HARVEST FESTIVAL - ENJOYING THE FELLOWSHIP
Harvest Festival is a time when we have an opportunity to come together as a body of believers to fellowship with one another, share our resources with each other and raise funds from our first fruits so that we can help people from the community who are in need. This is what was witnessed last Friday as we celebrated one more Harvest Festival. The special bonding among our members, the desire to come and participate and the burden in our hearts to help was seen across 35 area prayer groups, organisations and individuals. The sale of food items, auctions, live cooking, games, cultural programmes - all these bought in a sense of togetherness for a cause. Here is a snapshot of some of the activities.
As part of the Harvest Festival a Blood Donation campaign was held on 3rd January where around 80 of our members came forward to donate blood. This was held at the Easow Mar Timotheos Hall and graced by our diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa. Parish Mission organised a special prayer for the 10th and 12th standard students who are taking Board examinations this year. About 100 children attended the prayer and dedication where our Diocesan Bishop attended and blessed the children. As a congregation let us uphold these children in prayer that they will do their exams well.

A fitting farewell given to our 12th Standard Sunday Scholl students. The Convocation Ceremony for the outgoing students of our Sunday School was held during Worship Service on 10th January. As these children step into the world for higher studies, let us continue to keep them in prayer that they will not move away from the Christ values they learnt in their childhood.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE
First Communicant Service was held on Thursday January 2nd 2014 where about 70+ of our children participated in the Lord’s table for the first time. The Service was celebrated by our Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa. Let us continue to pray for these children that they will grow and nurture well in the Lord and they will come to know Christ as their personal Saviour.

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP GOOD SHEPERED INITIATIVE
From November the Good Shepherds Initiative (GSI) of YF has been spreading the joy and love of Christmas by going house to house and wishing all in a traditional caroling style. Over the past weeks they covered 80+ homes with the finale at the residence of Rev. Samson Samuel. It was a blessed time for everyone spreading the good news and joy across homes.
YUVAJANA SAKHYAM CHRISTMAS KIT DISTRIBUTION
As in the past our YuvajanaSakhyam distributed essential cooking materials like rice, oil, etc in a labour camp in Sonapur where workers have been living in dire conditions. The programme was inaugrated by our Vicar and 350+ packs were distributed in the first phase.
GULF YOUTH CONFERENCE DVD RELEASE
His Grace Rt. Rev.. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus released the DVD pack containing the live recordings of the 17th Gulf Mar Thoma Youth Conference that was held in October. A 4 DVD pack was released during the Parish Day celebrations.
ENGLISH SERVICE GIFT HAMPER DISTRIBUTION
For the 3rd year running English Service congregation distributed gift hamper packs in multiple labour camps across Dubai and Sharjah. A total number of 563 gift packs containing essential comodities were collected from members and Trinity Sunday School students, of which 363 were distributed among 6 labour camp for men and 200 for women in 2 ladies camps. A big thank you for each and everyone who contributed and Praise God for the opportunity He has given us to touch some lives.
HONOURING MEMBERS OVER 60 YEARS
Elders of our Church who have completed 60 years of age were felicitated with a Ponnada as part of the Senior Citizens Fellowship initiative. Ponnada were distributed to around 32 members of our Parish as part of the Parish Day celebration graced by our Suffragan Metropolitan and all our Achens.
CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE
The Christmas Carol Service this year was a blessing to all who attended. The English Carol Service was held on 14th December and the The Malayalam Carol Service was held on 19th December where the Senior and Junior choirs rendered melodious carols that bought in the Christmas joy and cheer. Our Suffragan Metropolitan shared the Christmas message for both the Carol Services. The English Carols this year also saw a Teens Choir apart from the Senior and the Kids Choir.
UAE CENTRE YUVAJANA SAKHYAM KALAMELA
Our YuvajanaSakhyam members showed excellent skills and talents in elocution, singing, instruments, etc to win the runners up in the recently held Centre Kalamela competition. Hosted by our Parish the Centre Kalamela was held on 30th November where Sakhyam members of all Mar Thoma Parishes in the UAE participated. Keep it up and keep improving in the coming years!
CANCER AWARENESS CLASS - SEVIKA SANGHAM
Our SevikaSangham recently organised a breast cancer awareness session for the benefit of all ladies. The session was conducted by Zulekha Hospital where doctors highlighted on the importance of regular checkups and tests. A large number of ladies participated in this special session.

Our SevikaSangham recently exhibited their God given gifts while participating in the UAE Centre Kalamela competition where they were came 2nd in the Overall Championship. Our SevikaSangham members came 1st in the Group Song category. Kudos to all who participated!
INTER CHURCH BIBLE QUIZ COMPETITION WINNERS
An Inter Church Bible Quiz Competition was held on 25th October 2013 organised by the Fujairah YuvajanaSakhyam. To encourage reading of the Word and memorizing it, the competition was based from the book of Joshua (Chps1-15) and Paul’s letter to Romans. Our members Aji Mathew, Neena Paul, Silu Shine won the Quiz Competition. Praising God for the talents He has blessed us with. Congratulations!
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP COMBINED MEETING
Dubai Mar Thoma Youth Fellowship had a combined meeting with the Sharjah Mar Thoma Youth fellowship at the Sharjah Mar Thoma Church on Saturday, 23rd November 2013 lead by Rev. Samson Samuel. Many of our youths participated in the meeting. The meeting along with our brothers and sisters from the Sharjah Parish was a blessed one.

On 2nd November 2013 Dubai Mar Thoma Sunday School attended the UAE Centre Sunday School Competition hosted by Abu Dhabi Mar Thoma Church. The competition was titled ‘EXPLORE 2013’. On 25th October 2013 Dubai Mar Thoma Sunday School attended the 5th Inter Church Competition hosted by Sharjah Mar Thoma Church. 17th GULF MAR THOMA YOUTH CONFERENCE
The 17th Gulf Mar Thoma Youth Conference organised by the Dubai Mar ThomaYuvajanaSakhyam held from 14th to 16th October was inaugrated by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development in the presence of Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa, Conference leaders Fr. Boby Jose Kattikadu, Daybai, Adv. P. A. Cyrus, Rev. Sam T. Koshy, Achens from all Mar Thoma Parishes in the Gulf, around 1000 delegates and other members of our Parish. By the grace of God, 3 days of the Conference was a blessed one with powerful messages and living testimonies from our leaders. A big thank you to all who prayed and contributed to the smooth functioning of the conference.

Our Parish celebrated the Family Dedication Day during the Worship Services on 24th, 25th & 26th October 2013 which was led by His Grace Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar TheethosEpiscopa. Thirumeni stressed on the need of raising prayerful Christian homes especially catering to the next generation so that they are not lost in this materialistic world. The Services were attended by a large number of our members who prayerfully participated and dedicated their lives to the Almighty Lord. After the morning Worship Service on Friday 26th October, a felicitation meeting was held for our vistingThirumeni who was visiting our Parish for the first time after his ordination as Bishop.
PARISH ANNUAL CONVENTION
Our Parish Convention this year was held from 21st to 23rd October at the Trinity compound. Based on the theme “Sacramental Life & Witness”, our Convention Speaker Rev. Dr. Prakash George gave insights into how we need to live as meaningful witnesses to our Lord Jesus Christ. Many of our members turned up on all 3 days of the Convention to listen to Achen. Our last day was also blessed with the presence of our Thirumeni Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar TheethosEpiscopa who challenged us to lead and live humble lives and being sensitive to the world around us especially to the helpless and needy.
UAE CENTER YOUTH MEET
The UAE Center Youth meet was held on 21st September 2013 at the Abu Dhabi Mar Thoma Church where students from Grade 8 and above participated. The event was led by Rev. Samson Samuel and had three prominent speakers- Rev. T. A. Varghese (Vicar,Santacruz MTC), Mr. Johnson Thomas (CSI Church, Abu Dhabi) and Mr. Ashwin Abraham (Dubai MTC).All those who attended were blessed by the speakers and the programme of the day. A special thanks to the Quiz team comprising Rejo, Juveen and Samuel who were placed 3rd in the Center Quiz titled “My Church, My Identity Season 2”.

CHILDREN'S GIFT DISTRIBUTION
Our Parish Mission took up a project to distribute gifts and other stationery items to children of Mukthi De-addiction Centre in Wayanad Area, run by our Diocese. The gift distribution ceremony was attended by 45 children from the Nadavayal and Neikuppa tribal colonies. The gifts distribution function also saw children singing some songs and exhibiting their talents. Rev. Reji Yohanan of the Mukthi De-addiction Centre has expressed his sincere gratitude to the Parish Mission. Thanks to all members who worked hard on this project and hope you would be able to support more such initiatives in the future.

As in the previous years, coinciding with Onam, our Yuvajana Sakhyam had a multi dimensional programme titled “SWARARAGAM” held at the EMTM Hall on Friday 13th September. The event was attended by a large number of our members including youths. Programmes included a skit by the Sevika Sangham, songs by Sunday School children, and a musical quiz. The afternoon ended with the traditional Onasadya that was a feast to all who participated.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2013
The last week of August was a memorable week for our children as they came together to attend the VBS. Rev. Jijo Varghese who was the VBS Director led wonderful sessions on the theme FRUIT BEARERS.
The entire VBS was a fantastic experience for the children, teachers and parents.

Our Yuvajana Sakhyam in cordination with the Sunday School celebrated India’s Independence Day on 16th August with some programmes and a guest lecture by Criss Iyyer, RJ & Program Manager of Radio Me.

HOMELAND FELLOWSHIP AT TIRUVALLA
Homeland Fellowship of our Parish was held at Tiruvalla on August 3rd, 2013 which was graced by our Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa and few of our previous Vicars. Many of our past members attended the Homeland Fellowship and was a blessed time of get-together.
SENIOR CITIZENS FELLOWSHIP GIFT
Our Senior Citizens Fellowship has come together and gifted a Mahindra Bolero to the “Yuhanon Mar Thoma Metropolitan Memorial Mandiram” in Edathua. His Grace The Most Rev. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan received the keys and blessed the vehicle before handing it over to the Mandiram. Many of elders took time and were present during the hand over. A big thank you to all members who contributed to this cause.

Youth Fellowship recently had their Praise & Worship led by Samson Achen and singing was led by the Sharjah Youth Fellowship group. The theme for the evening was “My Hearts Desire”. The message was shared by Mr. Noel M Mathew, a member of the Sharjah Mar Thoma Church studying at the Kottayam Seminary.
DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATION
The Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the Episcopal Consecration of the Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan was held at 2.30 pm on Saturday, the 25th May 2013 at the Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan Memorial Auditorium, Thiruvalla. Shri. Oommen Chandy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala inaugurated the function. while The Metropolitan Joseph Mar Thoma presided over the meeting.

PARISH MISSION CONVENTION
Powerful, meaningful and touching! This is how we can describe 3 days of the Parish Mission Convention that was held on 28th, 29th & 30th January. People were touched by the powerful message of Rev. P. K. Zachariah.
Harvest Festival of our Parish was held on Friday 11th January 2013, graced by our Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa and participated by a large number of our congregation. Thanks to all members, Kaisthana Samithi members and all others who helped in making this a success. Remember all proceeds from the Harvest Festival goes in helping others in need!
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE
First Communicant Service was held on Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 where 80 of our children participated in the Lord’s table for the first time. First Holy Communion was celebrated by our Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa. Let us continue to pray for these children that they will grow and nurture well in the Lord and they will come to know Christ as their personal Saviour.
YOUTH CAMP INAUGURATION
Yuvajana Sakhyam held a 2 day camp on 26th & 27th of October which was a great blessing and attended by many of our youths. The theme for the camp was: “Fragrance of the broken”. Our heartfelt gratitude to all those who worked to make this camp a success.
UAE CENTRE YOUTH FELLOWSHIP MEETING
UAE Centre Youth Fellowship meeting was held on 27th October 2012 at our Church. It was a blessed event attended by more than 460 from all churches in the UAE. Our YF bagged the 2nd prize
in the Inter Church Quiz Competition.

SUNDAY SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP
Sunday School held their Summer Camp “Battle Ready” last month which saw around 600 students from all Sunday Schools in the UAE attending.
The junior students had a day camp while the seniors had an overnight stay.
Students, teachers and volunteers - all enjoyed the camp and went home ready to face the battles of the world.
20 YEARS OF PASTORAL SERVICE
